I am in a bit of a pickle now. And let’s be clear – this ‘push, pull’ dynamic lives and dies on something more symbolic than romantic feelings for another human being. As a symbol of affection, electronic chocolate is incredibly potent, and yet, all that I have read is that it means nothing. Attention doesn’t equal affection.

Someone inspired me to look back and reflect on ‘our story’, and the ensuing emotion had me ‘opening up’. Now, it feels like the floodgates might be open. And yet, seemingly my friend has gone.

And so, it feels like I have climbed this hill, and all there is on the other side is free fall.
