The ‘insight’ that we can get from psychodynamic therapy allows us to see things that we can’t then unsee.
It teaches us something about how we exist in our psychological world.
I have understood that a lot of my escapist tendencies come from my family of origin.

There seems to be a disconnect between insight or understanding and behaviour.
Because if I understand that I feel like I need to escape, what does that actually achieve in terms of behaviour?
