Follow-up journal entry 18th of September

For those who aren’t already aware, my attempt at writing about the broader impact of these types of digital relationships and communication on society is here. I am not going to lie, it was a big stretch to write the first draft of this post. Especially perhaps because I wrote the first draft and outline at a pub on a Sunday afternoon. But that is a good thing, right? Stretching our minds to do things that are outside our comfort zones?

The only other thing that I want to mention is that the deadline for saying that this digital friendship has the potential to translate into real life is nearly up. My perception is that one of you does want to meet up one day (or that is how I took it) and that Turtle doesn’t.

I am guessing not much is going to change in the next few hours, so I would just say thanks for being honest with me. It is good to know that as far as you are concerned this friendship is just going to stay in the online space. This allows me to manage expectations accordingly, I think!

It is a bit of a kick in the guts, perhaps. I am not sure how I am going to feel after I post this, but maybe it will contribute to a more realistic understanding of what I am doing here.

Have a great afternoon/evening/morning! 🙂
